Game Review:

The Dark Knight Rises brings reasonably open-world gameplay and a similar counter-based combat system to pint-sized hardware. Even the signature cape glide, grappling hook and stealth vantage points are present, albeit in modified forms for touch control. Dropping down from a convenient hidey-hole and knocking out an armed guard pushes the same mental buttons as in the above titles. 

The plot, which loosely follows that of the blockbuster, takes a backseat to the action. Those hoping for a play-by-play of the social struggles in The Dark Knight Rises will be disappointed. But then, monologues on the nature of justice and the morality of compromise would hardly make for compelling gameplay. You'll get a story that intersects with the movie at key points, filling in with what boils down to a lot of fetch-quests and wave after wave of baddies. The puzzles presented include a hacking mini-game similar to Mass Effect, though the justification for some of them - like "hacking" into three separate power couplings to move a train - are a bit contrived. Small point: why does Bruce Wayne have to collect "credits" for power-ups? You'd think he could just, you know, buy them.

Subway Surfers is, in a nutshell, a stunning Temple Run clone. While there have been quite a few of these games popping up, including the likes of Agent Dash and Gravity Project, Subway Surfers still manages to feel very fresh and new. Read on for how… 

Pros- Really impressive graphics!

Cons- Some characters requires many, many hours play to earn enough coins- will therefore rely on in-app purchases. 

Features:Subway Surfers is a nail biting Temple Run-style game where you initially take the role of Jake, a graffiti artist who likes to tag trains. He is immediately spotted and needs to run from the Inspector and his dog. He will chase you over trains, through sidings, over barriers and carriages in a really exciting ‘dodge-oncoming-trains-by-the-skin-of-your-teeth action‘! As you progress you can collect coins and power-ups. The coins can be spent with the in-game store which gives you various power-ups and also lets you unlock other characters- much like in Temple Run. 

The graphics are genuinely eye-popping. From the vivid colours and responsive animations, to the way you can quickly dodge and roll in and out of on coming trains. I especially like the ability to jump from oncoming carriage to carriage, relying on the speed of the trains to make the jump. One power-up gives you extra bouncy shoes which will let you leap train carriages in one leap- pretty impressive if you pull it off! Another is the hover board power-up. This gives you a certain number of seconds flying around on a hover board- which is pure cool.

Game Review:

Before we delve into our review, here's a quick description of the game for the uninitiated:

Originally released for the NES, FF III starts you off as an orphan named Luneth, who falls into a hole and discovers the Wind Crystal. The Crystal tells Luneth he must return with the other three chosen warriors, so off you go. You'll meet all three of them within the first quest line. After saving the local kingdom from a Djinn's curse, you are forcefully returned to the Wind Crystal, which then informs you that you have been chosen to become the Warriors of Light.

You are able to change your job through the menu, similar to Final Fantasy V (Which is also due for an Android release some time soon), which is one of my favorite features about this game. You not only gain Experience from combat, but your job level increases as well.

The Android version of Final Fantasy III is a slightly updated port of the 2007 Nintendo DS release, which was a pretty major rewrite of the original 1990 Nintendo game. This is a classic Japanese console RPG: a party of four characters explores a world with two scales (outdoor and town/dungeon), collecting items and fighting monsters using turn-based combat as they grow in power.

Graphics are pretty much a direct DS port as well, with an overhead view at three-quarters perspective. They don't stress Android devices, but they're a cut above some of the purely 8-bit RPGs you find on Google Play.

The best aspect of game mechanics is the job system, which lets characters change classes at will. New classes get unlocked as the game goes on. Switching around classes adds a lot to the fun of the game, although unfortunately it's difficult to figure out what each one does without consulting online strategy guides

What's The Story?
One of my biases comes to the fore here: I love a good story, and FINAL FANTASY 3 doesn't have one. For the first three hours or so of the game, you're left bumbling around knowing the main quest is something vague involving a crystal. Then you find out more, but the plot is still a vague MacGuffin, not the passionate and character-driven stuff you see from games like Symphony of Eternity.

The characters, meanwhile, each get a bit of an origin but then act blandly generic throughout the game. Contrast that once again to Symphony, which keeps hitting notes of mystery, humor and romantic tension as time goes on.

That said, if the journey is the destination, FF3 has plenty of journey—at least 40 hours' worth, if you're not already a Final Fantasy expert. While this is a linear quest with only a few side quests, every step of the linear quest is different. And the little sub-quests do have plots—save this town, rescue that princess—to keep you occupied.

In Treasure Tower Sprint you play as a young prince who ascends towers in search of gold and, ultimately, the magical lamp of a Djinn so he can wish for even more riches. Players must must avoid monstrous guardians in order to collect every gold piece that each tower has to offer in a manner similar to Pac-Man. Is this game a wish come true? Or should we simply skip the coins and wish for freedom?

The gameplay of Treasure Tower Sprint itself is essentially easy: players must use the touch screen to navigate the prince throughout the entire level and collect every possible coin. The level will not end until your character has died or collected the last coin. On each floor are enemies that will attack you if you get too close. At first, these enemies will patrol predictable, preordained paths and can easily be avoided. But as you start clearing the game’s 70 mazes, you will find a varying degree of enemies to avoid: there will be Beamos-like rotating mini-turrets that will instantly shoot you if you are in their line-of-sight, enemies that are unpredictable in their patrols, enemies that will chase you regardless of where you go and even peacocks that you must catch for extra gold. That’s right, for bonus loot, you collect peacocks with zero rationale as to why they are valued or important as opposed to something else of value. The game’s bonus levels of peacock-chasing remind me of Rocky Balboa chasing a chicken in an alleyway.

In order to guide the prince through each maze, you must hold your finger on the touch screen and he will run in accordance to where your finger is making contact. If you make contact with an enemy, your character will automatically fight back as each of you fight and drain each others’ health bars. This is not recommended since the average enemy will significantly go through your health by the time you defeat one monster. You will find yourself dying regularly if you play Treasure Tower Sprint with a search and destroy methodology. While Sava sporadically left health potions around the first dozen or so levels, players are encouraged to specifically avoid enemy contact as health replenishment dwindle in the higher, bigger and more elaborately-difficult levels. --arcadesushi.com
