It turns out that when he’s not dreaming of lasagna, Garfield imagines himself hurtling through the air light as a feather in a world loaded with cat gymnastics, loony pick-ups and batty bonuses. Unlikely as it sounds, in his dreams Garfield can defy gravity. 

Garfield’s Wild Ride offers accessible single-finger gameplay to guide Garfield through a series of treacherous obstacles as players tackle 45 different missions across 3 radically different environments. Unlikely bonus pickups include jockeying a giant Odie or donning a helmet for a spin on a skateboard, with the option to purchase coins for extra in-game items. Garfield can also be fully customized in wild ways from dashing hats to space-cat, with more costumes available to buy in-game and coming in future updates. All-in-all, Word Lens does reasonably well for isolated words like you might find on road signs or menus, but not particularly well for longer sentences. The fact that you have to pay for multiple languages is a bit of a stinging point, but it's easy to imagine the developer simply releasing multiple, separate apps for each language instead.
The good: - Original, futuristic idea - Fast
The bad: - Lengthy translations hard to interpret - Microtransactions required for multiple languages
Conclusion: For individual words, Word Lens performs admirably, but don't expect, clean and concise translations of longer phrases, let alone full paragraphs. It's really too bad that Word Lens doesn't currently offer quite the utility it advertises, but it's still a novel concept and makes significant strides towards creating an awesome future without language barriers. For casual, simple, speedy translations, Word Lens will likely be good enough, but it is far from a full replacement for Google Translate.
The best-case scenario for Word Lens is that it offers both local translations as well as cloud-based ones, that way you could get the rough gist of a phrase without having to worry about processing time or roaming fees, but still having the ability to refine results into properly-formed sentences in the right circumstances. As is, Word Lens is successful as a novelty and a decent translation tool for individual words (if not whole sentences).  --androidcentral.com

With a name like EA behind it, the Real Racing series has a high bar set for itself to offer a great mobile gaming experience. Real Racing 3 is the latest in the series, and it surely doesn't disappoint when it comes to the quality of design. But users are still cautious about the title, as instead of charging several dollars for the game up front, EA has chosen to go with a "freemium" model to generate revenue.

Real Racing 3 offers great gameplay, visuals and sound, but does that overcome the annoyance of constant in-app purchases? But Rejoice! This download gives you unlimited money so you can buy anything you want, for informational purposes of course.

When you open up Real Racing 3 for the first time, you're thrown right into a tutorial race before meeting any menu structure. In this tutorial you'll get acquainted with the controls, interface and gameplay. This is useful if you've never played Real Racing before, but veterans can skip right past it to the main menu. That main menu is extremely clean and easy to use, although the touch targets to change settings and view your profile are a little on the small side when played on a phone.

When it comes down to a racing experience, Real Racing 3 delivers something quite satisfying. It's almost surprising how high quality of graphics and sound are available on a smart phone platform, and this is game is a good example of what's possible. By default, your controls are extremely easy, with all of the "assisted" settings enabled. For the more hardcore players, you'll want to turn these off and go with your own movements -- luckily there are many ways to customize how you control the car. The happy medium for me was manual gas and brake, with minimal steering assistance and tilt steering.

Coach's Eye is an Android app that lets you film your sporting performance using your phone or tablet, and then watch it back in super slow motion, on a large screen, and with annotations so you can see just why it is you hook your 3-wood or keep hitting the net with your forehand. 

Coach's Eye from Techsmith builds on the video capture capability of smartphones, creating a simple-to-use app that is geared at assessing and improving sporting technique. By recording and reviewing, the theory goes, you can break down an action you repeatedly perform, and improve your technique. 

The most important function is video capture. Coach's Eye utilises your Android smartphone's hardware to record film clips of sporting performance. Then, if your device has HDMI connectivity (which is, let's face it, unlikely) you can watch the footage on the largest screen in the house. More likely you can send film clips to your PC via Bluetooth.

The first is calls 'Slow-motion review'. Using a flywheel you can scroll through video at a snail's pace, nudging forward and backward in tiny increments of time in order to precisely evaluate just where your practised golf stroke became a manic hacking slice. And to help you pick out the exact spot where things started going wrong, you can annotate film footage.

If you're a coach, you can even record audio over the top of the footage. In my experience this goes something like this: 'Keep your head still, Matt. KEEP YOUR HEAD STILL, MATT'. Your experience may differ - either way, Coach's Eye offers the capability. Finally, you can name video clips in a specific way ('Matt Egan - golf lesson number 467'), and share them via a variety of different ways: email, SMS, DropBox, Facebook, Twitter, Evernote and more. Again, if you're a coach this could prove to be a useful prompt.
